Biography

Ibrahim Yusuf Abubakar is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, with about two decades of teaching and research. Dr Abubakar had acquired twenty years of professional experience from the broadcast industry before he joined the Mass Communication Department of the University of Ilorin as an academic staff in 2007. He started his career as a Reporter with Radio Kwara in 1987 and he was appointed as the pioneer Director of News and Current Affairs of the Kwara State Television Authority in 1997. His areas of research interest include broadcasting, global communication, media management, political communication, health communication, new media, and religious communication which has tens of publications in reputable journals, edited conference proceedings, and chapters in books. He has also supervised many Master dissertations.
