Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi is a Professor in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin. She has verse experience in teaching at all levels of learning; kindergarten, secondary school, middle-tertiary and at the university levels . She is a Broadcaster and a Public Relations Practitioner. She has published in the areas of health communication, relationship communication, public relations, advertising, media studies, media and conflict, and gender communication.

Saudat is a Public Speaker, a motivational speaker, and a marriage counselor. She served as the head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin for three consecutive terms, and at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin as a Reader on Sabbatical leave. She has participated in Mass Communication curriculum development and review. She has attended and presented papers at conferences within and outside Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, an Associate of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, a member of the African Council for Communication Education, a member of the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria, and a two-term President of The Criterion, a group of Muslim Women in Business and the Professions. She is the Founder and Coordinator of the “Baba Ilela Foundation”; a Non-Governmental Organisation that provides succor for the needy in areas of health, education, and general well-being.
